[...] Francois Bon and Antoine Montant, are two pargliding/skiing/flying…heck, I’m not sure what to call it…extreme dudes that made this incredible video from the top of the Eiger peak. This is easily one of the most insane/incredible things I’ve seen in a while. [...]

Incredible! And after watching this several times I felt a certain degree of disdain for my own comparatively "sedated" life.

Corrections:
In 1964 Fritz Stammberger became the man with the highest ski descent to that date when he skied from 24,000 feet on Cho Oyu in Tibet (after making the first oxygenless ascent of that 8,000-meter peak, the seventh highest mountain in the world).

As a former skydiver, I have to say "Speedflying" makes my hobby look practically geriatric! The only thing near this wild was a friend, Fritz Stamberger, once skied the Maroon Bells here in Aspen, among other insanities that were his staple long before "extreme" became popular. (Fritz was on the first successful tankless ascent of Everest. He has since disappeared mysteriously into the mountains in Nepal.) These guys and Fritz would have made great pals.

[...] Ben Saunders has posted a link to a Speedflying movie that is mind blowing: two French extreme skiers parasail and ski down various faces of the Eiger in Switzerland, including the famous (and terrifying) north face. There are two video links at the site, watch them both for a taste of what extreme skiing is all about. [...]

Reminds me a bit of the Compaq Pole II Expedition where Alain Hubert and Dixi Dansercoer crossed the northpole, using Parachutes to speed it all up (more info at http://www.antarctica.org/UK/Expe/Pag_hubert/Transarctic_02_UK/pag/expedition.htm - use top navigation).
