Telltale signs you're getting old…
I'm in a grump because a local pirate radio station has completely wiped out my Radio 4 reception. (When I first moved to London, nearly four years ago, I was over the moon at how many pirate stations were on the air. Mind you, back then they played more jungle and less garage.)

Ben Saunders is the youngest person to ski solo to the North Pole and holds the record for the longest solo Arctic journey by a Briton.

come on mate…its not that bad. after living in african
parks with no radio reception at all for 6 months
any radio station sounds good to me.
One can live for years without living at all, and then all life comes crowding into one single hour

Ok, I know it's been a long time…I've had a lot going on lately…
don't be upset. Anyway, I logged in today to read and try to
catch up…what's with this "Ben is currently preparing for a groundbreaking polar project in the winter of 2005″????? How long do we have to wait
to hear about said project? I was so disappointed to read the
Poles' expedition list CUZ YOU WEREN'T ON IT! I was banking on
spending the next few months engrossed in my PC anxiously awaiting
the next dispatch, and the next dispatch, and the next!! This
season will be boring without you Ben. I doubt anyone on expedition
this year has hardly the literary flair!!! I'll miss you, but I'll
be in touch here! ;-) Say hello to Helen and Tony for me…and the
beautiful Valeria!!

Great to hear from you again, Nikki! Keep logging in -
hopefully Ben and Tony can say more soon but it should be
worth the wait…….! We were all at the travel show in
London the weekend before last to hear Ben's talk on
'Achieving the Impossible' - shame you (and Paul) were the
wrong side of the 'pond'.

Well, hello Helen! Fabulous hearing from you! I would've LOVED
to be there to hear him speak. I've been trying to keep tabs on
his speaking engagements, but I haven't seen anything scheduled
here in the states. Maybe I should create some kind of "foundation"
so I would have an excuse to get him over here so I can meet him
and talk to him about his expeditions and training, etc. ;-) I
will be logging in more often…I really love to read what Ben
writes. I love his style! Talk soon! Nikki
